Alemay Fernandez
Hailed by TimeOut magazine as one of Singapore’s “best-loved entertainers”, Alemay Fernandez is a rising star on the Asian jazz scene. In her illustrious 18 year career, she has performed with the likes of The Count Basie Orchestra, Ernie Watts, Gregory Porter, David Foster, Incognito, The Platters’ Bobby Soul, William Close & Earth Harp Collective and opened for Laura Fygi & Benny Golson. She has sung for A-listers like Kevin Spacey, Ethan Hawke, Joss Stone, Kurt Elling, Lea Salonga, Paloma Picasso, Serena Williams as well as Presidents & Prime Ministers.
Alemay is known for her sultry tone, powerhouse vocals and an onstage presence that keeps the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. Her album.of originals “Hard To Imagine” launched to a sold-out concert at the Esplanade in July 2016 to rave reviews. Since then, she has toured the album in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Colombo, Hanoi as well as a recent U.S. tour this Summer 2017 where she headlined at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club in NY.
When she’s not on stage, she’s shaping the next generation of vocal performers at Lasalle College Of The Arts and hosting the “All That Jazz” radio programme on Symphony 924fm in Singapore.
